Wakefield Fire Rescue now has career firefighter/EMTs staffing the firehouse providing fire and EMS coverage, conducting fire inspections and fire prevention training 7 Days a Week 6am to 6pm.
Wakefield Fire Rescue operates as a call/paid Department. Personnel includes approximately 30 call firefighters 10 EMS call volunteers and 4 full-time Firefighter/ EMT's. The department covers just under 800 calls combined each year, providing fire suppression and emergency medical services to the Town of Sanbornville, Union, East Wakefield and Brookfield. The Department is led by Chief Todd Nason and Deputy Chief Rhodes Haskell. Patricia Brackett assists as the Fire Department Administrator. The EMS Division is led by Captain Jane Runnels.
Wakefield Fire Rescue is also an active member of the Ossipee Valley Mutual Aid Association.
